You know how some people tie their happiness into seeing other people create dreams, achieve goals, and realize success?
Robin Good is like that.
Thousands of people have deep respect for who Robin is and what he does. And just as many love why he's become a master curator around a number of topics.
His life trajectory has ranged from thinking he wanted to be a classically trained biologist to knowing he needed to be an “informational nurse” for people around the world.
I guess we can expect as much from a guy who describes himself as a citizen of the world.
You'll love this conversation if you're interested in new media tools, storytelling, marketing, vivid verbal imagery and, of course, curating.
And you'll see in the links below that he's all over the place. That's a good thing because Robin likes to engage people on different platforms, through different mediums, and on many topics.
Both he and I share a love for the spoken word, though. But we do differ on some key ideas.
For example, we differ on how much you need to laser target a specific niche to be successful online. And we also disagree about the usefulness of Seth Godin's books (I'm in the minority on that one, though).
Come get your curating on and let Robin be your DJ in this unpredictable, motivational chat!
What You'll Learn
Robin's no one-trick-pony and he proves it over-and-over.
In this episode you'll learn about:
- How you can be someone's bow and let them be their own arrow.

- Why money inspires greed … at corporations and non-profits.
- How Robin moved his newsletter online and started to make money hand over fist.
- How you can be an “informational nurse” for your community.
- Why relying on Google search results is like relying on a Big Mac to make you healthy.
- The three-step process to get your own “P.I.E.”
- How to develop power in alliances with similarly passionate people.

This guy really thinks outside the box– I’m impressed.
Love it! I’m feeling super inspired to write lots and lots for Cloud Coach after listening 🙂
I hope you went beyond inspiration and scheduled some writing time into your calendar for next week, bud. Robin has a way of getting people pumped up!
Hey Joel,
You were in my earbuds today for 2 hours. We bicycled through farmland and ranches in Montana’s upper Flathead Valley 🙂
It was you, me, Robin, and Joshua.
I have to say your show with Robin is my new favorite. The CCC is still a close second.
I love this concept of informational nurses. As you said, a human as opposed to an algorithmic filter is quite valuable these days. I loved the big mac vs. wholesome meal analogy when it comes to curation.
With Joshua I totally agree about the part where minimalism is about adding, not just subtraction. It was also great to hear how he would prefer to be remembered as a great father over being a minimalist. At the end of the day, there are so many intangibles that are a part of minimalism and intentional living.
Also you mentioned your capacity for awareness and the part about the inward journey before the outward. I’m right there with you on that one.
I can’t wait to see your book! And still waiting on the ignite video link …
Nice recap of my recent podcast episodes, Chris. You just saved everyone else two hours of having to listen to the show for themselves. 😉
Robin and Joshua are two of my favorite people online and I feel fortunate to have done an episode featuring their insight. I’m glad you latched on to something I said too – the part about starting your simplicity journey from the inside and then letting it radiate to your outside environment. Most people don’t do it that way, but it’s a powerful method of straightening out yourself before you try to straighten out your surroundings.
