Joel Zaslofsky Profile Picture

Joel Zaslofsky's Bio

Joel Zaslofsky is the community-animator, multipotentialite, and quantum biology enthusiast behind a bunch of neat stuff. He’s the Connections and Operations Guy for the Puttyverse, hosts the popular Smart and Simple Matters podcast, and has one overarching theme in life: bringing people together.

You’ll often find him deep into a minimalist spreadsheet, making his wonderful wife roll her eyes at his antics, or playing with his two young sons around Edina, Minnesota. Otherwise, Joel’s out walking on frozen lakes (when available) and reigniting his personal renaissance.

Creations

Smart and Simple Matters is my popular podcast that explores the unsexy, but essential side of life. I've interviewed world-class people like Mark Sisson, Andy Puddicombe, and Tsh Oxenreider, yet I also enjoy the occasional solo episode as well.

Experience Curating: How to Gain Focus, Increase Influence, and Simplify Your Life is a book I wrote that's been downloaded thousands of times and has many five-star reviews. It's about the mindset, process, and tools to curate your experiences so you can spend 0.1% of your time adding value to the other 99.9% (spreadsheets are optional, but encouraged).

I co-created the Offers and Needs Market site as their Project Manager and Operations Guy. Imagine a mashup between speed-friending, mutual aid, and Craigslist. That's the Offers and Needs Market – a joyful, guided process where groups come together to discover and exchange their passions, knowledge, skills, resources, and needs.

SimpleREV was a movement I founded at the crossroads of community and simple-living that organized international events, brought people together locally, and much more. In other words, it was simplicity your way, at your speed, and with your people.
